Ghana Premier League best goal keeper, Richard Ofori, has revealed his readiness to man the Black Stars post when given the platform. The in-form shot stopper, who has been the safest pair of hands in the local championship for the past two seasons running pledged to defend the image of the home based players when given the platform.

The Black Stars deputy goal keeper acknowledged the competitive nature of the goal keeping department but readied himself for first team action at the upcoming AFCON when called upon. Ofori touted his hunger for global recognition and the confidence reposed on him by the PLB as the best in the land ahead of a potential break through tournament.

“I am always ready for the first team action any time I am called upon.

“We are talking of AFCON here and I could not have asked for a better platform to make a difference for the home based player

“Of course the goal keepers in Ghana are good but mentally I think I am ready for this upcoming tournament if handed the goal post”, Ofori revealed.

The Wa All Stars goal keeper kept 15 shutouts in his 27 matches last season, allowing 14 goal en route to the championship.

The talented goalie defended his goal keeper of the season at the recently held 2016 PLB award night staged in Accra.
