Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Sadick Adams says he was confident of scoring a hat trick against eternal rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in the grand finale of the 2017 MTN FA Cup on Sunday.
The former Atletico Madrid young prodigy tormented Accra Hearts of Oak for ninety minutes as he banged in a three first half goals which ensured that his side lifted the glittering trophy and also book a place in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Adams who joined Kotoko for the second round of the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League after a short stint in Cyprus revealed that a former teammate at Berekum Chelsea called him long before the finals that he was going to score four.
“Before the game I knew I was going to score at least three because I had a chat with one of our players before our league game with Berekum Chelsea and he told me he has asked God to give me four goals before the season ends. I scored one against Medeama so I knew the three would come against Hearts,” Adams told footballmadeinghana.com
“I was praying in my mind when the two goals came, and I asked God to give me the last one and he did. My colleagues (players) also helped me alot because without their hard work this won’t have happened,”
“We were very motivated, our coach told us that nothing is more motivational than playing in a cup finaland moreover he told us to play to the game not the occassion and we did just that,”
Adams who has played in Spain, Serbia, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Cyprus also indicated that the standard of the Ghana is coming up though some few things needs to be done.
“The standard of the Ghana league is good but many things must be improved to make it more professional and attractive.
The former Ghana National Under 17 striker scored a total of five goals for Kotoko as they won the MTN FA Cup for the second time since 2010.
