Former Deputy National Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Joseph Yamin has advised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to be very careful of how he addresses the nation in the State of the Nation Address based on the findings given him.

Thursday, February 8, 2018, has been confirmed as the day President Nana Akufo-Addo will present his second State of the Nation address to Parliament.

President Akufo-Addo’s address will be in accordance with Article 67 of the constitution.

Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ programme, Joseph Yamin stated that Ministers of state should feed the President with the exact and accurate information he needs for the State of the Nation Address [SONA]from their various sectors to keep him focused on issues of the state, making his delivery accurate.

To him, comparing the speeches read by President Akufo-Addo and Ex-President John Mahama during his term as President, he will rate the past President higher than the current President because the current president’s speeches are directly opposite to what the state is experiencing.

Mr. Yamin admitted the fact that his party [NDC] will definitely have their side and real State of the Nation address after the President has delivered his.

“We will as a party definitely tell Ghanaians the real state of the nation after the President has given his, since I know some appointed ministers of this government will definitely make him lie to us”, he indicated.

According to him he was very much embarrassed for the President on how he answered questions possed to him by journalists during his encounter with the press few weeks ago based on the facts given him.
