Residents of Foase in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region have petitioned the "gods" in the community and invoked curses following the attempt of government officials to locate the district capital from Foase to Trede, 2 kilometres away from the community.

The residents who were clad in red and black vowed to share blood against their opponents if government refuses to maintain Foase as the district capital and called for any attempt by any individual or group of persons to desist before they are stricken by the "gods".

Speaking with the opinion leader  of Foase, Nana Manu Darkwah, he said the Local Government Minister of the past NPP administration helped the town to become the district capital.

“Foase has been the district capital all this while, even during NDC's era so why the sudden attempt to move the capital to Trede?” he asked.

“We want to appeal to the president, Nana Addo, to step in so that the district capital will be maintained.”, Nana Manu Darkwah concluded.
