Unity Oil Company Limited, one of the business outfits of the Unity Group of Companies has presented an amount of GHC70,000 to help in the installation of some LED bulbs to boost security in the school.
The KNUST in recent times is noted for numerous armed robbery cases which usually occur around places where such facilities have not been installed.
Mr. Kissie Appiah, marketing manager of the company told oseikromonline's Emmanuel Owusu that, the company has one of its branches situated in the school and has over the years enjoyed a healthy working relationship with the staff and students of the school hence, had to reciprocate with this donation which forms part of their social responsibilities.
"This is the first time we have done such a donation and we are hopeful that this is a start of a new beginning of a longer lasting partnership between the KNUST and our company". Mr. Kissie noted.
He has assured the university of the company's commitment to supporting brilliant but needy students with the introduction of a scholarship scheme.
The university was however grateful for their kind gesture.
